DEMOCRATS IN THE ONONDAGA COUNTY LEGISLATURE HAVE RELEASED WHAT THEIR PLANS WOULD BE FOR THE ROUGHLY $85 MILLION DOLLARS THAT COUNTY EXECUTIVE RYAN MCMAHON PROPOSED BUILDING AN AQUARIUM WITH.

THE PLAN DETAILS HOW THE FUNDS WOULD BE USED, INCLUDING $40 MILLION TO ADDRESS LEAD PAINT POISONING IN CHILDREN, AND $30 MILLION TO REMOVE LEAD PAINT FROM HOMES.

KUHN: “We’re trying to jump start the conversation about how to use money to serve the community and not to serve fish.”

WOOD: A POPULAR CHARITY RUN IS RETURNING TO DOWNTOWN SYRACUSE THIS WEEKEND.

THE 26TH RUNNING OF PAIGE’S BUTTERFLY RUN WILL TAKE PLACE THIS SATURDAY AT 9 A-M AFTER COVID MOVED THE RACE TO PALMER ELEMENTARY SCHOOL LAST YEAR.

FUNDS FROM THE RACE WILL BE DONATED TO THE UPSTATE FOUNDATION TO SUPPORT A RANGE OF SERVICES THAT CHILDREN RECIEVE AT UPSTATE GOLISANO CHILDREN’S HOSPITAL.

ARNOLD: “Primarily over time what we are trying to do is raise funds to help families patients and families that were in the position we were in and that Paige was in.”
