NCC News Podcast- March 19th, 2019 NCC News Podcast- March 19th

Tease of the 4:00 and 4:45 NCC News casts.

Good afternoon, Central New York, and welcome to the NCC News Podcast. I’m Mike Mulford.

And I’m Noah Wolfe. Mike, it has been actually a pretty nice day. I was thinking I wasn’t even in Syracuse for a second.

You know what, for being in the middle of March, we’re not doing too bad here in Syracuse. We have our NCC Weather Reporter Gabriela Knutson here with us. Gabriela, what’s going on with the weather outside?

So, today and tomorrow we will have highs of 36 and 38 Fahrenheit and coming in a lot of dry air these next few days. On Thursday and Friday, we’ll have a lot of rain.

So, would you say it’s basically spring time now?

No, even though tomorrow is the last full day of Winter, Spring time is definitely not here. Central New York will definitely have some cold weather.

Oh, that’s unfortunate. I guess we’re in for a little bit of a tease right now.

And in local news, marijuana could be legal in New York State soon. Governor Andrew Cuomo says he will propose the legalization of the drug in his new state budget. Right now, recreational marijuana is legal in 10 U.S. states, while medical marijuana is legal in 33. We asked what you thought about the potential legalization. Find out the results on our four o’clock newscast.

And even closer to home in Central New York, we have the latest on the Liverpool man who stole $100,000 from an Auburn auto dealership. Police arrested him on Grand Larceny charges and he could be facing a pretty hefty criminal punishment if he’s convicted. We’ll tell you what that could be at four o’clock as well.

And it’s been a busy weekend in sports. Big news out of Major League Baseball. We have our sports reporter, Faith Cain, with us. Faith, tell us what’s going on here.

Mike Trout may be making the biggest contract in professional sports history. And of course, it’s March, one of the biggest times in sports. We have NCAA basketball March Madness. I’ll be breaking down Syracuse basketball. And the women, they’re also going dancing this week. They’ll be hosting this weekend, so you’ll definitely want to tune in at 4:00 and 4:45 today.

Thanks so much, Faith. Can’t wait to hear all about it.
Can’t wait either, Noah. Big sports fan over here. We have a lot coming up for you guys in the 4:00 and 4:45 newscasts. Like we said before, we’ll have Gabriela Knutson break down weather and Faith Cain with sports. But you won’t want to miss all the local and national stories that we have coming up for you.

I’m Noah Wolfe.

And I’m Mike Mulford. Thanks for tuning in, Central New York. Make sure you stay tuned for the 4:00 and 4:45.
