Stanton: Here’s the latest national and international news from N-C-C News. I’m Ellis Stanton.

President Trump says he has total control to reopen New York’s economy. But New York’s Governor Andrew Cuomo says President Trump does not have the authority.

Cuomo: The federal government does not have absolute power. This is the exact opposite that the president said. It says that would be a king. We would have had King George Washington. We didn’t have King George Washington and we don’t have King Trump, we have President Trump.

Stanton: The International Monetary Fund is predicting the global economy to fall three percent this year due to the Coronavirus outbreak. Chief economist Gita Gophinath (GOH’-pin-ath) says the outbreak has caused an economic crisis that has never been seen before.

Gophinath: This makes the Great Lockdown the worst recession since the Great Depression and far worse than the global financial crisis.

Stanton: Former President Barack Obama announces that he will endorse Joe Biden’s presidential campaign.
