By Abigail Fridmann SYRACUSE, N.Y. (NCC News) — Our beloved Syracuse  — those who live here have nothing but pride for our city. But there’s no use denying there are some eye sores around town.

But recent donations from private investors are cleaning up the area – bringing new improvements our way.

Marketing and Events Coordinator for The Downtown Syracuse Committee, Bethany Holbrook, says the coming plans will benefit everyone in the community.

“So all the developments, new residential apartments, new construction, some of the new retail spaces, so all fun and exciting things.”

You’ve probably already seen some of the construction around town, but you might not even realize what’s being built. Many of the projects will focus on creating inclusive housing. Many of the empty lots will be turned into apartments. Rent prices ranging from $800 to $11,000, the plan is to bring affordable housing and luxury housing, and combine them into one building.

Restaurants and shopping centers are also coming soon. This is all part of the Syracuse 2020 program, so be sure to keep your eyes open to new things popping up around town.
