Sam Reis, Reporter: Bash Potato is the latest addition to Destiny Mall in Syracuse. While the popularity of malls in general has seen a decline, restaurant manager and husband of owner Shurouq Azzam says that a mall like Destiny was always the top location he had in mind.
Azzam, Bash Potato Manager: We wanted to bring attention to the name and what we do, so there’s nothing really better than the top five mall in the United States to be in so we decided to start here.
Sam Reis, Reporter: Azzam also says that the ultimate goal for many businesses like his is to expand but a mall is the perfect starting point.
Azzam, Bash Potato Manager: We said that a mall would probably be the best idea for now before we start expanding to SU and other college areas like Ithaca as well.
Sam Reis, Reporter: It’s just the start for Bash Potato in Syracuse but it’s clear that its owners believe the mall is the best option to grab Central New York’s attention.
