ONONDAGA COUNTY WILL BE HOLDING THEIR THIRD BOOSTER CLINIC SINCE THE F-D-A APPROVED THE SHOTS IN LATE SEPTEMBER.
THE AGGRESSIVE ROLLOUTS COME AS THE DELTA VARIENT REMAINS THE DOMINANT STRAIN OF COVID-19.
DOZENS OF PEOPLE LINED UP AS EARLY AS NINE THIS MORNING TO RECEIVE THEIR THIRD SHOTS.
EVEN AS THE LINE GREW LONGER, JORDAN RESIDENT KATHERINE MITCHELL SAID THE SHOT WAS WORTH THE WAIT.
Katherine Mitchell: “I have been waiting to get it, where I work, they only had about 1,500 shots this week, so it’s been 9 months since my last shot, so I really wanted to get it and that’s why I signed up here.”

VACCINE WILLINGNESS WAS MIXED AT THE CLINIC TODAY.
BALDWINSVILLE WOMAN JOAN SIMMONS SAID SHE GOT THE SHOT, BUT IS STILL SKEPTICAL ABOUT THE INFORMATION SHE’S BEEN GETTING.
Joan Simmons: “I want to do what’s right and at the same time I’m not too sure if we’re being told the truth about things.”

AN ON-CENTER OFFICAL TOLD ME THAT HE EXPECTS THREE-TO-500 PEOPLE TO FUNNEL TROUGH THE CLINIC TODAY.
HE ALSO SAID MORE BOOSTER CLINICS ARE EXPECTED AT THE ONCENTER IN THE NEAR FUTURE.
THE STATE OF NEW YORK SAYS PFIZER RECIPIENTS OLDER THAN 65 ARE ELIGIBLE FOR THE BOOSTER AS ARE 50-64 YEAR OLDS WITH UNDERLYING MEDICAL CONDITIONS.

SYRACUSE, NY (NCC News) – The OnCenter held another COVID-19 booster shot clinic Thursday.
This was the third county clinic since the FDA approved booster shots in late September.
The aggressive rollouts came as the Delta variant remains the dominant strain of COVID-19
Dozens of people lined up as early as 9 a.m. Thursday morning to receive their third Pfizer shots.
Evan as the line grew longer, the shot was worth the wait.
“I have been waiting to get it, where I work, they only had about 1,500 shots this week, so it’s been 9 months since my last shot, so I really wanted to get it and that’s why I signed up here,” Jordan resident Katherine Mitchell said.
Vaccine willingness was also mixed at the clinic.
Some received the booster but were still wary of the information being given.
“I want to do what’s right and at the same time I’m not too sure if we’re being told the truth about things,” Baldwinsville woman Joan Mitchell said.
An Oncenter official said he expected 300-500 people at the clinic today.
He also said more booster clinic may be in the Oncenter’s future.
The state of New York says Pfizer recipients older than 65 are eligible for the booster as are 50-64 year-olds with underlying medical conditions.
