Autumn Ryan, Reporter: Open Figure Drawing is hosting its 35th annual art exhibition at Edgewood gallery to commemorate its first group exhibition in 1989. 

Autumn Ryan, Reporter: Open Figure Drawing president, Scott Hermann says he is happy that their classes have been an artistic space where people can grow as artists and build friendships.

Scott Herrmann, Open Figure Drawing President: Very deep, it’s a great feeling. it’s a way people come place they can go and actually express themselves. It’s a place they can go and actually learn to place they can go and
meet other people, like-minded people.

Autumn Ryan: Reporter: The exhibition will feature 38 pieces from members who attended the weekly Open Figure Drawing art sessions.

Autumn Ryan, Reporter: The Open Figure Drawing 35th anniversary group show will be on display until august 9th from 9:30 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays. and from 10 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. on Saturdays. I’m Autumn Ryan, N-C-C News.

SYRACUSE, N.Y. (NCC News) – A non-profit arts organization in downtown Syracuse is celebrating 35 years of community-created art.

Open Figure Drawing is hosting its 35th annual art exhibition at Edgewood Gallery to commemorate its first group exhibition in 1989. 

Open Figure Drawing Board President, Scott Herrmann says he is happy that their sessions have been an artistic space to where people can grow as artists and build friendships.

“Very deep, it’s a great feeling,” said Hermann. “It’s a way people come place they can go and actually express themselves. It’s a place they can go and actually learn to place they can go and meet other people, like-minded people.”

The art exhibit will feature 38 pieces of artwork from Open Figure Drawing members.

“Very, very important to a developing artist to see their work on a wall in a frame. Wow, it’s almost like an important first step in an artistic journey to have that kind of validation,” said Herrmann.

The Open Figure Drawing 35th Anniversary Group Show will be on display until August 9th from 9:30 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. on Tues., Wed., Thurs., and Fri., and from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. on Saturday.
