Tully's in Syracuse Gives Ten Percent of One Night's Profits to OttoTHON

By Brianna Yates SYRACUSE, N.Y. (NCC News) – Syracuse University Students piled into Tully’s restaurant in Syracuse Monday night, but they didn’t go just for the chicken fingers. Tully’s partnered with the largest student philanthropy on Syracuse University’s campus.

OttoTHON is Syracuse University’s annual 12-hour dance marathon, and it’ll be here in less than a month. OttoTHON was brought to SU in 2015, and the organization has raised hundreds of thousands of dollars for Upstate Golisano Children’s Hospital. Last year alone, OttoTHON raised over $150,000. This year, the organization has decided to bump up their goal to $200,000.

In addition to the money raised by students, OttoTHON is partnering with several local franchises to help reach their goal. For the Tully’s fundraiser Monday night, members of OttoTHON’s executive board made flyers publicizing the event and handed them out to students. Tully’s donated ten percent of their profits to OttoTHON for anyone who came with the flyer.

OttoTHON will take place this year on Saturday, November 3rd in Goldstein Auditorium beginning at 10:00 a.m. In order to participate, students are encouraged to raise $100 leading up to the event. For more information on the event and how to register, visit http://ottothon.com.
