GABRIEL CARR-JOHNSON: Pretty princess of c-n-y has been around for about a year but their biggest event is coming up soon but with a huge difference. founder of the group, kym servello gardner says the brothers of little girls can now get dress clothes for themselves.

KYM SERVELLO GARDNER: Last Christmas it was just girls and then looking at their pictures on Facebook the pictures they’ve submitted the girls were dressed up but their brothers weren’t so thats when I decided lets add the boys too

CARR-JOHNSON: Although they do not get paid for it the joy of the children makes it all worth it says board member of Pretty Princess C-N-Y Ann Jackson who has been with the organization since the beginning.

ANN JACKSON: Its so great to be able to just see the look on the little girls faces when they see they can have any dress they want in the room and its theirs free of charge and they do get to be a princess.

CARR-JOHNSON: With over 400 kids expecting to be at the giveaway, Servello Gardner says a lot of work goes into getting the dresses for the girls.

SERVELLO GARDNER: We purchase a lot I travel around the state looking for dresses we have people that purchase for us they hand some down to us.

CARR-JOHNSON: Along with the clothes they’re going to get, there is also one big surprise waiting for them when they get here. In Syracuse, Gabe Carr-Johnson NCC News

SYRACUSE, N.Y. (NCC News) — Hundreds of dresses on racks for a giveaway going on this weekend. Pretty Princesses of CNY, a group started by Kym Servello Gardner back in 2021 will be hosting this.

There is a twist this year though. Usually, all of their events are only for young girls under the age of 10 . But, for this holiday event is being held for boys of the young girls as well.

“As long as they are under the age of 10 and have registered before the event, brother, cousin, doesn’t matter there’s plenty of clothes here to give out,” said Servello Gardner.

With the holidays coming up, Servello Gardner said that this event is a way to bring joy and happiness to families who usually cannot afford to buy these dresses for their children.

Ann Jackson, Pretty Princesses CNY board member, said that her favorite part is seeing the joy on all the children’s faces when they walk in and see the dresses everywhere.

Over the past few months Servello Gardner and Jackson have been going to different areas around New York to buy the dresses, receiving donations and gifts from previous families.

Servello Gardner believes this event is going to be the biggest one yet.

“We are expected to get over 400 children for this event on Saturday,” said Servello Gardner.

At last years event, Servello Gardner said that they ran everything out of her house but things got chaotic quickly. This year she knew she had to expand their location to accommodate for the amount of people she expected to bring in.
