SYRACUSE, N.Y. (NCC News) – Syracuse City School District began its hybrid class model on Monday after three weeks of online learning.
The district’s reopening was delayed to allow teachers to better prepare for the model.
SCSD split the students into pods, which allows them to go in-person for one to two days each week.
Those returning to learn in-person will receive temperature checks and must follow social distancing guidelines.
In addition, hallways have been marked with one-way signs to avoid students walking into each other and make sure that social distancing is adhered to.
Parents have the option to keep their kids at home if they feel uncomfortable with the hybrid model in place.
Last week, SCSD invested one million dollars into a new air filtration system to help prevent the spread of COVID-19.
