This Comes After There Was Multiple Threats Across New York State This Week. Ncc News’s Zach Richter Investigates and Joins Us Now Live From Temple Concord With More, Zach.
(Zach Richter): Good Evening, Guys. This Past Weekend Was the Jewish New Year of Rosh Hashannah. The Temple Here Behind Me, Temple Concord, Hosted Rosh Hashanaah Services. However, Because of Anti Sementisim Jewish Centers Have to Step Up Their Security. Jewish Centers or Jewish Temples. And That’s What Just Happened This Weekend as Geneva Had a Bomb Threat at One of Their Temples.
(Tamar Levy): There’s a Rise in Antisemitism and Sometimes There Are People Who Don’t Want to Do Great Things. And I Think That You Just Kind of Have to Go and Hope for the Best and Hope That Security Will Do It’s Part.
(Zach): and That’s Exactly Why Security at Jewish Centers Has to Be Extremely Secure. I Spoke With One of Important People Behind This Operation. Susan Demari, the Director of Security for the Jewish Federation of Central New York Explains.
(Susan C Demari): “We Always Have Security at a High Level. Whether Its High Holidays, We Actively Train the Community Members, the Leadership. We Are in Constant Communication With Jewish Community the Leadership. We Have a Great Working Relationship With Law Enforcement.”
(Zach): Even Though Susan’s Teams Are Always on High Alert That Doesn’t Mean They Can Prevent Threats. Threats That Were Considred Not Dangerous Were Received This Weekend in Not Just Geneva but Also in Buffalo. Susan Explain’s on How She Helps Her Teams Differenatie From What is a Hoax and What is an Actual Threat.

SYRACUSE, N.Y. (NCC News) – Security at any Jewish Centers is always the upmost importance, especially at this time of the year during the high holidays. Just this past weekend a bomb threat was received at a Jewish temple in Geneva. With Rosh Hashanah just finishing up, Yom Kippur is now just less than a week away. Susan DeMari is the Director of Security for the Jewish Federation of Central New York. She overseas security teams at local Jewish centers.
“We always have security at a high level. Whether its high holidays, we actively train the community members, the leadership. We are in constant communication with Jewish community and the leadership. We have a great working relationship with law enforcement,” says DeMari.
Hillel International Spring Fellow, Tamar Levy, says there has been a rise in antisemitism because of there are some people who don’t want to do great things.
She says when going to a Jewish Center “I think you just kind of have to go and hope for the best and hope that security does its part.”
Marci Erlebacher is the Executive Director of the Jewish Community Center in Syracuse. She says security is needed any Jewish space because of antisemitism.

NCC News has confirmed there were also 2 threats to a Jewish Center in Buffalo. Antisemitism doesn’t just exist across the world; it exists right here in New York.
