(NCC NEWS) – Syracuse, New York has long been regarded as one of the snowiest cities in the United States. However, over the past few years the city has faced a deficit in the amount of snowfall during the winter months.
Since the 2019-2020 season, annual snowfall has decreased from the 83 inch average. The 2023-2024 season has seen a little over 45 inches of snow as of March 28th.
Past seasons have not seen much more snowfall, with the 2022-2023 season seeing about 71 inches of snow, the 2021-2022 season seeing 66 inches, the 2020-2021 season seeing 74 inches of snow, and the 2019-2020 season seeing 73 inches of snow.
While the current season is running a large deficit, there could be potential for some snowfall this upcoming Easter weekend, however no significant snow can be seen in the forecast for the foreseeable future.
