SYRACUSE, N.Y. (NCC News) —The New York State Fair’s entertainment team is promising yet another year of outstanding performances.
Amidst the fierce competition from other events, the New York State Fair manages to consistently attract a wide range of entertainment.
Artists come to the State Fair knowing its appeal and vast audience that await them.
“They know all sorts of different people come to the New York State Fair, and it’s a chance to introduce their music to people from all walks of life,” said director of public relations Alice Maggiore.
This past year, hip-hop artist Nelly was introduced to the State Fair and drew 43,000 people, which was the largest crowd the State Fair has ever seen.
Each year, the fair promises captivating entertainment. The State Fair actively seeks feedback from attendees to understand their preferences and identify the artists they would most like to see featured at the event.
Maggiore says top country artist Lainey Wilson was one of their biggest gets of the year.
“Last year she won best new artist and this year, she won Best Female Artist. And the only other person to have done that recently was Carrie Underwood,” said Maggiore.
Wilson will be performing at the Suburban Park Stage at 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 23 as part of The Fair’s Chevrolet Music Series.
The State Fair is set to take place over the course of 13 days, starting from August 23 and continuing until September 4.
