A NEIGHBORHOOD ASSOCIATION IS HOSTING AN EVENT THAT OFFERS A UNIQUE COMBINATION OF FOOD AND DRINK FOR THE SYRACUSE COMMUNITY.
N-C-C’S BAILEY ARREDONDO REPORTS ON THE STRATHMORE BEER AND CHEESE FESTIVAL IN THE HISTORIC STRATHMORE NEIGHBORHOOD.
LOCATED IN THE SOUTHWEST CORNER OF DOWNTOWN SYRACUSE, THIS FESTIVAL WILL BE FROM THREE TO SEVEN ON SATURDAY.
PROCEEDS WILL BENEFIT THE GREATER STRATHMORE NEIGHBORHOOD ASSOCIATION, A NON-PROFIT.
PRESIDENT OF THE NEIGHBORHOOD ASSOCIATION BOARD, JASON ALLERS SAYS THIS EVENT IS OPEN TO THE PUBLIC AND WILL GIVE A GLIMPSE OF ONONDAGA PARK.
“What we are trying to do is expose the park and neighborhood to young folks like you who may be working in downtown or living in other areas, particularly the suburbs, and give them a chance to experience what its like to spend an afternoon in the city.”
THOSE WHO PURCHASE TICKETS CAN EXPECT CRAFT BEERS, ARTISANAL CHEESES, SPECIALITY FOOD AND LIVE MUSIC.
ALLERS SAYS HE WANTED THIS FESTIVAL TO BE UNIQUE.

By Bailey Arredondo Syracuse, N.Y. (N-C-C News) – This weekend is your time to experience what the city of Syracuse has to offer, accompanied with food and drink.

The Greater Strathmore Neighborhood Association (GSNA) is putting on its very own Beer and Cheese Festival at Upper Onondaga Park on Saturday from 3 to 7 p.m.

This historic neighborhood is located in the southwest corner of Syracuse and holds many homes built in the early 1900’s.

President of the GSNA Board, Jason Allers, says this years Beer and Cheese Festival is a great way to immerse yourself in the Syracuse community.

“What we are trying to do is expose the park and neighborhood to young folks like you who may be working in downtown or living in other areas,” said Allers. “And give them a chance to experience what its like to spend an afternoon in the city.”

Visitors with the purchase of a ticket can expect a variety of craft beers, cheeses, and specialty meats. Live music will flow throughout the afternoon featuring Liam Alone and Irv Lyons Jr.

Allers says the beers and cheese will come from local breweries and purveyors.
