Students Hit the Polls Students Hit the Polls

ANCHOR: I’m here at Onondaga Community College on the day before the midterm elections. So we decided earlier today, to go around the campus and ask some of the students if they are in fact voting, and if so, who they are voting for. Remember Noah just told you, in that demographic of 18 to 24 year olds, under 20 percent of people are actually voting. We found out, that might just not be the case and also, some people might be voting for a person that’s not even on the ballot.
SARAH: I am… I’m voting for Trump.
MATT: Probably Trump… I’m a republican. My family is. I like his morals, I guess.
ANCHOR: Meanwhile others have decided against exercising their right.
LATIANNA: No, because I just don’t believe in what’s going on right now. Our president, republicans, democrats, it just doesn’t make sense anymore, so I just don’t pay attention anymore.
ELISA: I’m voting tomorrow, I have not voted.
ANCHOR: Who are you voting for?
ELISA: I don’t know yet.
ANCHOR: Though there are others, like Chase Rickman, who are very involved and have their mind made up.
CHASE: Yes I am voting this year… I’m going to vote for John Katko… I interned for him over the summer. It was honestly awesome, it was a lot of grass roots work, going door-to-door and making phone calls. It was a great experience.
ANCHOR: And as you can see guys obviously a very diverse amount of answers that we found out here today.
