Syracuse Airport Adds New Flights Syracuse Airport Adds New Flights

Dallas, Miami among additions.

TRAVELERS WILL NOW HAVE MORE OPTIONS TO CHOOSE FROM AT SYRACUSE HANCOCK INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT.

THE AIRPORT’S EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR, JASON TERRERI, SAYS NEW DESTINATIONS INCLUDE DALLAS FORT WORTH, MIAMI, AND BALTIMORE.

TERRERI SAYS THE MIAMI FLIGHT WILL HELP CONNECT SYRACUSE WITH FLORIDA AND CENTRAL AMERICA.

HE SAYS THE BALTIMORE AND DALLAS FLIGHTS ARE MORE BUSINESS-ORIENTED.

“The Dallas and the Baltimore flight are going to improve the business connectivity. For anyone coming to and from Syracuse, it also provides international opportunities to connect.”

TERRERI SAYS HANCOCK SERVES ABOUT FOUR TO FIVE THOUSAND CUSTOMERS PER DAY.

IN APRIL OF 2020 THOUGH, TERRERI SAYS HANCOCK HAD ONLY 41 HUNDRED CUSTOMERS ALL MONTH.

HOWEVER, TERRERI SAYS HE ISN’T CONCERNED THAT WILL HAPPEN AGAIN.

“As far as a true impact, a global impact that will shut our industry down again, I don’t see that happening with the Delta Variant.”

TERRERI SAYS THE DALLAS FLIGHT WILL BE AVAILABLE THIS COMING WEEK.
THE MIAMI AND BALTIMORE FLIGHTS WILL START IN NOVEMBER.

SYRACUSE, N.Y. (NCC News) –– Syracuse travelers will soon have more options to choose from when deciding on where to go. Syracuse Hancock International Airport recently announced they are adding more flights to their schedule. The destinations include Dallas Fort Worth, Miami and Baltimore.

The airport’s executive director, Jason Terreri, said these flights will all play a part in connecting Syracuse with other parts of the country. He said he expects Miami flights to be more so for leisure, but he also thinks it will help connect Syracuse with Florida and Central America. As for Baltimore and Dallas, they may be more business-oriented.

“The Dallas and the Baltimore flight are going to improve the business connectivity. For anyone coming to and from Syracuse, it also provides international opportunities to connect,” Terreri said.

Terreri added that in a normal year, Hancock serves about four to five thousand customers per day. While numbers right now are a little short of that, nothing will compare to the peak of the Covid pandemic. In April of 2020, Terreri said just 4,100 customers came to Hancock all month. While he is concerned there could be another dip with another outbreak, Terreri doesn’t think it will be quite as bad.

“As far as a true impact, a global impact that will shut our industry down again, I don’t see that happening with the delta variant,” Terreri said.

Terreri added that the Dallas flights will become available this coming week. The Miami and Baltimore flights will be added in November.
