SYRACUSE N.Y. (NCC News) – Calling all bacon lovers, the Syracuse bacon festival is back. Galaxy Media is hosting the Dunkin’ Bacon Festival for anyone looking for a bacon fix.

The festival is making its second-year appearance at Clinton Square in Downtown Syracuse. Those who attend can get bacon, bacon-wrapped food, food with bacon in it, beer, desserts, music and more.

Brittney Christie is the Galaxy Media director of event marketing. She finds creative ways to bring together local businesses and attendees to events like the Dunkin’ Bacon Festival.

“So it’s two days of food vendors, music and crafters. And every food vendor has to have at least one bacon item,” she said.

One of this year’s sponsors is Dunkin’ Donuts. Christie said they will have their own special bacon dish. She said this year there will be a contest on both days for the best bacon-dressed individual. The winner will win a year’s worth of bacon.

Christie said, in reference to COVID,  the Bacon Festival is an excellent opportunity to remind people how important community and social interaction are.

“Because people need other people to survive. We can’t just live in isolation,” She said. “So for me personally I feel like that’s just always been one of my drives because I love being around people. And I think I love seeing the way we bring people together.”

The Dunkin’ Bacon Festival is August 13th and 14th and has more information on its website below.
