SYRACUSE, N.Y. (NCC NEWS)- Syracuse Bicycle is hosting its annual “Point to Pint” ride next Saturday, August 17th at Empire Farm Brewery in Cazenovia. The annual event is held to raise money for their “Point to Pint” fund, which helps raise money to allow them to build customized bikes for certain people’s needs for free.
Event Coordinator, Mia Tomasello explained what kind of customizations the fund goes towards.
“We try to adapt to everyone’s different needs and skill sets,” Tomasello said. “These customizable parts aren’t cheap, and they are very complex so this fund really helps out with all of that.”
As far as the ride goes, Tomasello stated how they try to incorporate everyone into the fun trip.
“It’s really beginner friendly,” Tomasello said. “We try to cater to people of all abilities, so that’s why we have the various distances including the 25, the 50 and the 100 kilometer rides to try and make it fun for everyone.
This event is by far the shop’s favorite ride of the year.
“This is our favorite ride of the year,” Tomasello stated. “It is the only day we close down the shop besides the holidays. It’s something we all look forward to every year and we love the cause that it goes to.”
The entire Syracuse Bicycle shop encourages everyone to come out for the day of fun. There will be live music, a taco bar and unlimited beer. Rain or shine, they are looking forward to a great turnout.
