Syracuse Celebrates World Cider Day Syracuse Celebrates World Cider Day

Syracuse is known for its wide variety of ciders

SYRACUSE, N.Y. (NCC News) – June 3 marks World Cider Day. It’s a time for cider enthusiasts around the world to clink their glasses and make a toast to a beloved drink.

Cider is an alcoholic beverage created from fermented apple juice. Syracuse, in particular, is a hub for the beverage, with multiple breweries and orchards offering their spin on the classic. Lafayette’s Beak and Skiff Orchards features a tasting room for their wide variety of 1911 ciders, and Cazenovia’s Critz Farms has its own cider mill.

Orange Crate Brewing Company is one of the most popular bars in the area, located right off of Syracuse University’s campus. Owner Raymond “RC” Faigle has some promotions planned for the day, including four cider flavors available on tap and $8 cider flights.

“We are exclusive with the 1911 brands,” Faigle said. “We like to support the local businesses and breweries.”

Other bars and breweries across downtown Syracuse will have promotional offers as well.
