A parking lot that would once fill with cars sits empty. Living Water Church of God in Christ is one of the many churches affected by the coronavirus pandemic.

Ministry member Elder Melvin Baker says the change has been helpful in some ways and not so much in others.

Elder Baker: “Without the pandemic or those social distancing constraints, you can just put a hundred people in say fifteen pews and not worry about space.”

The church is primarily home to people under sixty. Elder Baker says there is a level of precaution the leaders in place will take for those who are over the age of sixty when returning to in person services.

Elder Baker: “Make sure you consider those people who you love and care about, and who are part of that high- risk pool.”

Elder Baker says one thing that has been nice to see is how his father-in-law, 87-year-old Pastor Nebraski-Carter has adapted to the change.
