The Syracuse Jewish Community Center is holding a vigil later today for the victims of Saturday’s shooting at a Pittsburgh Synagogue.

NCC News will be live at the event.

The vigil will honor the eleven people who were shot and killed at the Tree of Life Synagogue in an attack that has shocked the country.

 

“Anti-Semitism and hatred in any form are antithetical to our faith and an affront to humanity,” JCC directors said in a press release. “For the victims, we will mourn. For the living, we will continue to fight for a better, more just world.”

Syracuse has its own connection to anti-Semitic attacks. Three local Jewish Community Centers received bomb threats last year.

The vigil will be held at the DeWitt JCC, 5655 Thompson Road, at 5:00 PM. For more information, visit the Syracuse JCC Website.
