Syracuse University to Build Enclosed Walkway Between Dome and Barnes Center SU to Build Enclosed Walkway Between the Dome and Barnes Center

By James Hilepo SYRACUSE, N.Y. (NCC News) — Syracuse University will build a new enclosed pedestrian path between the Dome and the newly renovated Barnes Center at the Arch.

The university announced these plans after a Board of Trustee member Bob Miron and his wife, Diane, donated $7 million to the school. The funds will go toward the construction of both the new walkway and wider support for campus libraries.

The exact intended use of the walkway is not known, as the university only revealed that it has a number of ideas for the thruway as part of its larger stadium project. The addition could serve as a boost to the school’s widely rumored pursuit of a new naming-rights sponsor for the Carrier Dome.

The connection between the two buildings will be named “Miron Victory Court” after the donors. There is no established timeline for work on the project to begin.
