On Feb 27th, Syracuse Dinosaur Barbecue made a joke about human trafficking on social media. Some people think that this company made light of human trafficking.
Syracuse’s Dinosaur Barbecue restaurant named a sandwich “Robert Kraft” in its new menu, making light of Robert Kraft’s case. On Feb 21th, a 77-year-old billionaire and owner of the New England Patriots, Robert Kraft, was accused in connection with alleged prostitution and human trafficking case.
Many people criticized Dinosaur Barbecue for only wanting to raise its own awareness without regard to those victims. But Michael Mark, a customer of Syracuse DinosaurBarbecue, says that this is just exaggerated by the media.
“They, they didn’t mean anything bad by it,” he said.
Although he doesn’t agree with what Dinosaur did, Mark says that he laughed when he first saw this post on Facebook. He thinks it is just a misguided business marketing and that people shouldn’t make a fuss.
It is still unclear whether the “Robert Kraft” sandwich shows on other Dinosaur Barbecue locations’ menus beyond Syracuse.
