Syracuse’s Increased Temperatures are Also Increasing Campus Interest Syracuse's increased temperatures are also increasing campus interest.

Alexandra Poll, Reporter: Syracuse students tend to take advantage of any bit of sun that they can get – but to their delight – this winter has been filled with an increase in sunshine. S-U senior – Cole Bambini – is an admissions tour manager – who believes that the warmer weather has positively impacted the tours.

Cole Bambini, Student Tour Manager: “Today it will present itself a good image when there are many students out here on the promenade area kinda just hanging out and things like that.”

Alexandra Poll, Reporter: One activity that also tends to increase with the weather is drinking. When on tours many families witness this and many may believe that this would turn potential families away – but Cole believes it does the opposite.

Cole Bambini, Student Tour Manager: “I don’t think that’s a deter in any way, some students may be looking for that type of environment in a college and it presents itself to an advantage.”

Alexandra Poll, Reporter: Cole believes that parents expect this from S-U and hopes that the weather stays warm – not only for parent and student interest – but also for tour guide morale. Alexandra Poll – N-C-C News.

SYRACUSE, N.Y. (NCC News) — Syracuse has experienced high temperatures this winter and is on track to record its second warmest winter in at least 120 years. With these increased temperatures, students at SU are spending more time outdoors.

Students are enjoying the sunshine by laying in the sun, playing spike-ball, relaxing on hammocks, but some students are spending this time playing music and drinking games.

This time of year is not only coming with warm temperatures, but also many admissions tours. During admissions tours, families are witnessing the increase in drinking outside, which many would think could concern parents, but SU student tour manager, Cole Bambini, believes it does not.

“I don’t think that’s a deter in any way, some students may be looking for that type of environment in a college and it presents itself to an advantage.”

Bambini has observed that many parents come to Syracuse expecting to see these types of activities and are excited to see that students take advantage of the weather.  He is looking forward to the continued warm weather because he thinks it presents a good image for the university as well at increases tour guide morale.
