SYRACUSE, N.Y. (NCC News)- The taste of Syracuse, one of the biggest food and drink festivals, was held earlier this June. The event raised over $23k which was donated to two local charities in Syracuse.
On Wednesday, the event organizers of the Galaxy Media Partners, presented the two non-profit organizations with the checks. The donations were split in two equal checks for $11, 936.25 and were presented to PEACE Inc. and the Sleep in Heavenly Peace.
The two charities were chosen this year to help the low-income families in Syracuse. The charity Sleep in Heavenly Peace helps the underprivileged families with comfortable beds to sleep on.
“That’s going to be huge for the low-income families, instead of sleeping on the floor, going to have the opportunity to sleep in a bed comfortably,” Kim Allen, the events marketing specialist for Galaxy Media said.
The Galaxy Media Partners host a number of events all year along, all of them having a charitable aspect. The company has an upcoming ‘Canine Carnival’ in September this year Allen said. The event will include food, drinks, adoptable animals and all the proceeds will go to local animal shelters in Syracuse.
