SYRACUSE, NY (NCC News) – The 2024 Masters Tournament has been delayed due to inclement weather concerns in Augusta, Georgia .
Early Thursday morning, the professional golf championship moved its original tee time from 9 a.m. to 10:30am EST. Rain had been coming down throughout the night, which encouraged the decision.
Opening ceremonies for the 88th edition of the men’s tournament began around 10:10 a.m.
This change pushes back 5-time Masters winner Tiger Woods to a tee time of 3:54 p.m. The latest tee time will now be 4:30p.m. with Dustin Johnson, Collin Morikawa and Tommy Fleetwood.
Golf fans should not fret about further delays, as the weather in Augusta this weekend is predicted to be clear, sunny skies. The Masters Tournament runs until Sunday, April 14th.
