For the last seven months movie theaters have been closed leaving people to re watch movies from their homes. Similar to other businesses they can reopen now with Covid 19 precautions in place.

At first, I was a little hesitant. You know I think they wouldn’t open if it didn’t take all the precautions to make it safe for the public, so I do feel very comfortable. Just wear a mask.

Just in time for the cold front to come in one of America’s favorite pastimes is back. Governor Cuomo said this past week that movie theaters can open today. Theaters, such as the movie Tavern here are opening under strict precautions for COVID-19, such as ordering tickets and food online on their apps.

Well, to keep everybody safe, we’ve tried to make it as contactless as possible. So, we’ve installed foot pulls on all the doors, so you don’t have to use your hands if you don’t want to. We have our kiosks, so you don’t have to talk to a box office person that you’d rather not.

I think Syracuse is ready. And so are we.

At least you’re just going out there and changing the scenery you know. We’ve got to support the local businesses and the movie Tavern is a great place to support.

SYRACUSE, N.Y. (NCC News) – The wait to sit back, relax, and enjoy some movie theater popcorn is finally over.
New York Governor Cuomo announced last week that movie theaters can finally re-open. All theaters in New York state, with the exception of those within New York City limits, received the green light.
The Movie Tavern in Camillus is among the theaters that is re-opening. A list of COVID-19 precautions were put in place by Governor Cuomo to make sure patrons were safe while inside theaters.
“We’ve tried to make it as contactless as possible,” said Movie Tavern general manager Kip Wotanowicz.
Along with contactless ticket buying and food ordering, the theater also wipes down the seats in-between showings, has hand sanitizer stations, and installed foot pulls on the doors so you do not have to open and close them with your hands.
“You know I think they wouldn’t open if they didn’t take all the precautions to make it safe for the public, so I do feel very comfortable,” said Syracuse student Bella Mattera.
You can now safely order your ticket and reserve your seat at the theaters just in time for the winter to roll in.
