The owners of Laci’s Tapas Bar are running a voting contest through social media to donate money to nonprofit organizations. The Operation Ambassador Fallon Moen says any organization can participate.

By Dignelly Torres Syracuse, N.Y. (NCC News)- Laci’s Tapas Bar restaurant has a virtual event that starts a day after the restaurant social media contest.

The Laci’s 9th Annual Giveback next step is a virtual event that starts on August 9 at 10:00 a. m. People are going to be able to buy a $40 ticket for the benefit of the contest winner. At the end, all money recollected will be donated to the winner charity.

Laci’s Tapas Bar organized a nomination and a contest to help nonprofit organizations. This year, people has to vote for an organization in social media to select a winner. Laci’s Annual Giveback donated a total of $116,300 the last 8 years.

The organizations were nominated by people through Facebook. The Operations Ambassador Fallon Moen said that any nonprofit organization can participate. There is over 80 charities in the voting form. According to Moen, the winner doesn’t have to notify to Laci’s what they do with the money.
