Braden Reed: I’m Braden Reed reporting for NCC News. Here are the stories making news today, April 12th.
Fire personnel responding to reports of smoke in a Brooklyn subway station found several people shot and injured on Tuesday morning, according to the Associated Press. Undetonated devices were also found at the station, and former NYPD Chief of Detectives Robert Boyce says the situation has the makeup of a premeditated act.
Robert Boyce: If you see something like that – some, you know, smoke, that type of thing, you’ll get a targeted attack, rather than a random attack.
Reed: In Central New York, spring has sprung, and that means golf season is in full swing. As players make their way back out to Drumlins Country Club in Syracuse, head golf pro Sean Dadey says the outlook is strong for his club this season.
Sean Dadey: But the West Course, the public play, has gone through the roof. We’re at a great price point for the public. It’s repeat business. The students have been coming out a little bit more than we’ve tracked the past couple of years. It’s been great.
Reed: Supply chain issues are affecting trash pickup in Syracuse and locals are seeing the pile-up first-hand. SU student Leo Silverman says he can’t help but notice the build-up.
Leo Silverman: My trash actually is piling up to a varying degree. The dumpster is completely overfilled by this point.
