Josh: I’m Josh Meyers reporting for NCC News. Here are the stories making headlines today, Tuesday April 27th.

Josh: Onondaga Community College is hosting a symposium this Friday on race and policing in the US. OCC Professor Tara Ross says the series is all about seeing the issue from both sides.

Tara Ross: They all understand that as much as everyone would like to get everything they want, they understand that anytime you’re talking about reform, you’re also talking about compromise.

Josh: The New York State Fair is back this year and Central New York is gearing up for the big event. Bianchi Pizza Pad Owner Sam Mangana says the fair will help his business tremendously during the pandemic.

Sam Mangana: You know, there’s people that stop buy pizza. Maybe you want to leave the fair and grab a pizza on the way home. So we do increase about 10 to 15 percent.

Josh: As college semesters are coming to a close, international students are finding themselves stuck in the states due to travel restrictions. Syracuse University student Anna Terzaghi says her college friends are helping her feel a little less lonely during the next few months.

Anna Terzaghi: So what I’m planning to do over the Summer is stay with my roommate at first. Hopefully I’ll be able to go visit some friends as well and maybe get to see a little bit more of the country.

Josh: It’s cloudy today with a chance of rain later tonight. You can find the full stories on our website, NCCNews.online.com. For NCC News, I’m Josh Meyers.
