Paws of CNY strives to improve lives through the bond between human and animal. In terms of air travel, pet owner Peggy Byrne says that travel companions are a necessity.
PEGGY BYRNE: “I think with all that’s going on in this world, it’s more needed than ever.
STRIANO: The City of Rochester is mourning the loss of police officer Anthony Mazurkiewicz (ma-ZUR-ka-witz). However, local reporter April Franklin sees a disconnect with the tragedy.
APRIL FRANKLIN: “The police that patrol in that same community, are they a little bit more rougher, or more disrespectful towards people in the community based on what happened, you know, because of previous bias.”
STRIANO: And finally, the Downtown Farmers Market is celebrating its 50th anniversary. Market manager Robert Travers says that he is always trying to find a way to make the event more unique every year.
ROBERT TRAVERS: “Next year I think I want to try more events type of days.”
STRIANO: A heat wave is on the horizon for Central New York with temperatures reaching up to 90 degrees tomorrow. Expect scattered thunderstorms later in the week.
