THE SYRACUSE POLICE DEPARTMENT RELEASED THE FINDINGS OF THEIR INTERNAL INVESTIGATION IN TO ALLEGED EXCESSIVE FORCE BY OFFICERS DURING A TRAFFIC STOP TWO WEEKS AGO. SYRACUSE POLICE CHIEF KENTON BUCKNER SAYS THAT WHILE THE OFFICERS CONDUCT WAS NOT PERFECT, USE OF FORCE WAS JUSTIFIED IN THIS CASE.

BUCKNER: IN SUMMERY i HAVE DETERMINED THAT THE LANGUE AND INITIAL MANNER OF INTERACTING WITH MR. MORE WAS NOT CONSISTENT WITH THE POLICY OR MY EXPECTATION OF HOW OFFICERS SHOULD INTERACT WITH THE PUBLIC IN A PROFESSIONAL WAY AND FOR THAT THE TWO OFFICERS HAVE BEEN DISCIPLINED. HOWEVER IT IS MY DETERMINATION THAT THE OFFICERS USE OF FORCE IN THIS INCIDENT WAS APPROPRIATE AND WITHIN DEPARTMENTAL POLICIES AND OUR TRAINING.

IF YOU ARE GOING TO BE PARKING IN DOWNTOWN SYRACUSE EXPECT TO PAY A LITTLE BIT MORE. N-C-C NEWS MICHELLE HOUSTON SAYS THE RAISING COST HAS SOME PEOPLE WORRIED.
