The New York primary took place yesterday, but due to the high number of absentee ballots thanks to coronavirus, results are still pending. For the first time in Onondaga County, more than half of the votes are expected to come through the form of mail-in ballots. There were still
Governor Andrew Cuomo announced that Central New York can officially enter phase four of the reopening process on Friday. This will allow low risk businesses to reopen to the public. Included in phase four are museums, art galleries and zoos. Media production companies such as television and movie studios are also included. However, movie theaters and casinos remain closed.
As states reopen at different paces, California is preparing for a school year that will be unlike any other. Lauren Maslyr of Valley Christian School in San Jose talks about the challenges that schools will be facing this fall.
Lauren Maslyr: Due to social distancing guidelines, we will need to reduce our class sizes by half. So, we would have students come to school every other day and then at-home learning on the opposite days.
KD: She also says that temperature checks will be a challenge to ensure that students are not exposed to the virus.
With life returning to normalcy in a new way, sports are making a comeback. Alyssa Lyons has the update.

Baseball is officially back; the MLB and PA announed opening day will hold opening day by July 24 and run a 60-game season through september.
ESPN announced the top players for the TBT tournament, Malachi Richardson leads Boeheim’s Army, Honorable mention for Chris McCoullough, Tyler Lydon and and Eric Devendorf.

KD: Potential record-breaking temps didn’t reach new heights yesterday as expected, but there may be more to expect in the near future. Van Delbridge tells us what’s coming later this week in weather.
Van Delbridge: After a three day stretch of hot and humid weather here in Central New York, temperatures will look into the 80s starting tomorrow. Heading into the weekend we’re looking at 82 on Friday, 80 on Saturday and 82 on Sunday with a 90% chance of rain on Saturday.
