Good afternoon everyone I’m Joe Trently and this is your NCC News afternoon rundown.
A man was shot and killed at a North Side Apartment building early this morning.
Police rushed to the scene and found that the man had been shot in the upper body.
He was transported to Upstate University Hospital where he later died.
Anyone with any information is asked to contact the Syracuse City Police Department.
Governor Cuomo is set to meet with President Trump today in Washington D.C.
The meeting was set up to talk about coronavirus response efforts and ways to re-start the economy.
Cuomo believes improving the infrastructure will help get the economy back up and running.
Summertime is beginning here in Central New York, and there are warnings of an invading species in the area.
The Lone Star Tick is commonly found in the Southwest, but has made its way to the Empire State.
Doctors say these ticks are more dangerous than people may think.

The Bel-Aire Diner in New York City has come up with a new and creative way to serve their patrons.
The diner has turned their parking lot into a drive-in movie theater, where customers can still purchase their food.
Bronx resident, Ronald Fajardo, says it can work if everyone does there part.

As the country begins to open up, Florida is the state that has been leading the charge.
Although non-essential businesses are allowed to reopen in the state, they still face the challenge of keeping the number of cases low.
Dr. Estelle Beresford is an owner of a dentist office, and says she is taking extreme caution with opening her office back up.

Onto Sports.
Governor Cuomo announced yesterday that professional sports teams throughout the state are encouraged to return to their practice facilities and begin training camps.
The New York Governor has been very proactive about this, and believes sports can make a comeback as long as there are no fans in the stands.

It is scorching hot today with temperatures reaching up to 90 degrees, but with no rain here in Syracuse.
