Anastasia Frazier: I’m Anastasia Frazier reporting for NCC news. Here are the top stories making news today October, 26th 2021.It looks like the upcoming season for the Syracuse Mets is going to get a lot better. The players will be receiving added benefits to their housing plan. Starting pitcher, Adam Oller, says these benefits relieve the players of stress.

Adam Oller: “You get a lot of anxiety on how you’re going to be able to pay for your training the next week, or pay for your rent, or just not go broke in general.”

In college sports, Syracuse University’s Mens Basketball student manager, Max Schobel, is excited for all fans to be back watching this season in the dome.

Max Schobel: “You can’t fill the dome with just the students and this university. You need the supporting community too.”

Parks and Recreation in the Village of East Syracuse is throwing a Halloween party for The East Syracuse Elementary School students today. The assistant Parks and Rec director, Kieth Caillo, says there is a lot to look forward to.

Kieth Caillo: “Lot of fun. Lot of music, food, and drinks and a bunch of games and of course a lot of candy.”

S-U homecoming events are underway this week. The President of Syracuse Traditions Commission, Kayla Zamkov, says the surrounding community does not need to worry about a COVID spike.

Kayla Zamkov:”Personally I don’t think they should be concerned. I know cases are pretty much very low on campus right now. You know everyone will be masked.”

Rainfall is taking over CNY skies all day. Winds are reaching as high as eleven miles per hour, and temperatures are finally starting to drop. We are expecting a high of fifty five degrees.
