SYRACUSE, N.Y. (NCC News) — The LGBTQ+ community in Syracuse kicked off Pride Month in full force over the weekend.

Syracuse City Hall and the town of DeWitt raised the Pride Flags showing support and celebrating the CNY LGBTQ+ community.

The community said to them the month of June is about celebrating love, togetherness and proudly remembering the activism and struggles that the LBGTQ+ community faced to gain freedom.

Throughout the month the Central New York Pride community is hosting a range of events, the schedule is right below:

June 8: Salt City Drag Battle at Syracuse Stage

June 8 and 9: Ithaca Pride

June 10: PRIDE 2023 | CNY Pride

June 13: CNY Pride and Guerrilla Gay Events present: Pride Night with the Syracuse Mets

June 14 – 16: Watertown Pride

June 15: Cazenovia Pride Fest & Parade

June 21 and 22: Syracuse Gay & Lesbian Chorus Pride Concert
