Syracuse, NY (NCC News) – After the State of the Union Address was delayed due to the government shutdown, President Trump will finally address the nation tonight at 9 p.m.  Here is what he is expected to discuss:

HIV Prevention: President Trump is expected to roll out a plan that can prevent HIV transmission by 2030. Government scientists have been working for months to develop a plan that could help stop the spread of the disease.

Immigration: Building a wall on the southern border has always been on President Trump’s agenda, and after being the cause of the recent government shutdown, this is sure to be among the most important topics tonight. Trump’s immigration policies have been controversial  for his entire presidency.

Economy: The State of the Union Address has been an opportunity for Presidents to update the nation on the current state of the economy, including employment rates and the stock market. Trump is expected to discuss the state of the economy over the past year and lay out some plans for the future.

Nancy Pelosi: This is the first State of the Union Address that will include House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, who will be seated directly behind President Trump. The power dynamic between Pelosi and Trump has been well documented recently, so people will certainly be watching to see how Pelosi reacts to some of Trump’s comments tonight.
