SYRACUSE, N.Y. (NCCNews) — Have you ever wanted to hold Mary Poppin’s umbrella or wondered how the tin man felt walking down that yellow brick road? Well now you kind of can. Gretchen Darrow-Crotty, the costume shop manager for Syracuse Stage, says they’re holding a yard sale this weekend because they simply have too much stuff.
Syracuse Stage decided to hold a yard sale due to an influx of items and not being able to return most of them or the return time-frame closes. They will have items from some of their most popular productions like Hairspray, Mary Poppins, and White Christmas. As well as fabrics, furniture, household items and more.
“We produce six to seven shows a year for Syracuse Stage and five to six for the drama department, so every time we buy something new or make something new, we have to put that somewhere,” said Darrow-Crotty.
With the items they do not sell, Syracuse Stage will donate the ones with value to local charities so they can resell them, and the others will be thrown out.
The yard sale is August 10, 2024 at Syracuse Stage from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and they will be accepting cash, check or charge for purchases.
