Maria Wainscott (Reporter): The Coda Apartments leasing office released a statement to its residents last night saying they are planning a ‘phased move-in.’

Students displaced by The Coda’s construction have to make arrangements for more nights in their temporary lodging. The Collegian Hotel and Suites has accommodated dozens of students. Future Coda resident and current Collegian Hotel guest, Maya Palmer says she’s grateful that she’s at a hotel that will accommodate her stay on such short notice.

Mya Palmer (Tenant): “I’m blessed to be in a situation where it’s extended. But you know other people aren’t so lucky because they didn’t stay at this hotel and they have other living arrangements. So now they have to figure out where to fan for the next two days or three days.”

Maria Wainscott (Reporter): Collegian Concierge Taela Nicholas says the hotel is happy to accommodate students for the extra days. With the fall semester right around the corner, the Collegian won’t suffer when students begin checking out.

Taela Nicholas (Hotel Concierge): “We got parents, move-in week. Well, that alone will bring us all the revenue that we probably need for the whole year.”

Maria Wainscott (Reporter): According to The Coda leasing office, phase one of move in is expected to begin Aug. 3.
