The 2020 New York Farm Show Enters Its 35th Year The 2020 New York Farm Show Enters its 35th Year

The show is the largest of its kind in the Northeast United States

SYRACUSE, N.Y (NCC NEWS) — It smells like a farm inside the Exposition Center at the New York State Fairgrounds. Thousands of people will travel to Syracuse to experience the sights and smells of the largest farm show in the northeast United States.

Visitors at the New York Farm Show can experience a wide variety of activities at the New York Farm Show. They can check out the latest models of tractors and lawnmowers, or speak to vendors from across the country, and attendees can even test drive a pick-up truck.

The event brings over 400 vendors, and thousands more attendees to Central New York for a weekend of all things farming.

Silas Clark brought his father and son business all the way from Kansas to take part in this weekend’s activities. With him he brought the machine his family has been building, developing and now mass producing since 1970. The Electric Grain Roasters the Clark family developed is intended to help farmers produce feed quicker for their cows.

“The size of the dairy farms in this part of the country are very well-suited to our machine size,” Clark said. “There’s a lot of one-hundred, two-hundred, three-hundred cow dairies that are still family operated.”

Clark said that the show offers the perfect opportunity to connect with a large audience of farmers all at the same time. And Tom Martell, of Kioti Tractors, recognizes this too, and has continued to come to the event for 17 years.

“There’s a lot of customer interest, and especially this time of year, where we’re introducing new models,” Martell said. “So people come out here to see the new models and actually put their hands on it.”

The show has plenty of new machines and innovations throughout the farming industry, and will be open through Feb. 29.
