SYRACUSE, N.Y. (NCC News) — The owner of Pumpkin Hollow, Louise Cox, said she worked hard to keep the attractions COVID-19-free, from the corn maze to the hayrides.
“What we do in between every hayride is we have one of those large commercial sprayers, and we spray the handrails and the stairs to get on the hayride, then we spray the hay bales that they’re sitting on and the railings that they might be touching,” Cox said.
Cox said in pre-COVID-19 times, the weekends would be much busier than the weekdays. But now, they have a pretty even distribution of customers throughout the week.
The Pumpkin Hollow also held Halloween events such as a haunted hayride but are looking for alternatives this year that will follow the pandemic guidelines.
“We are considering a haunted walk, where we could restrict how many people are walking a half-mile decorated trail,” Cox said. “The other consideration is to do a haunted walk through our corn maze.”
