Syracuse, N.Y. (NCC News)–As Election Day approaches on Tuesday, time is running out for Early Voting in Onondaga County. The Southwest Community Center is the Syracuse location for local voting in the area.
Locals have been making their ways to the polls to cast their votes before election day.
Hair salon owner and operator, Theresa Constantine said that Early Voting is a better option for her when it comes to making time in her busy schedule.
“A lot of people are busy on voting day, I’m busy all day. I already have customers all day long. I mean I always have customers all day long. They come in early it’s helpful for me so I can get here just when I have time to do it,” said Constantine.
Tops produce worker, Garnet Grimm, also believes that Early Voting is beneficial for people that cannot find the time to vote come Election Day.
Grimm thinks that voting is important, but thinks that it is not the most effective way to have voices heard in politics.
“I don’t think that your vote is as powerful as it maybe should be because there are a lot of special interests, a lot of groups that will influence the candidates running that have more influence over them then the general people, but I think it’s important for us to vote,” said Grimm.
There are different voting locations throughout the county.
