Laci’s Tapas Bar in Syracuse Plans to Reopen in August Laci's Tapas Bar in Syracuse Plans to Reopen in August

SYRACUSE, N.Y. (NCC News) — “Booze and Bites” is coming back as Laci’s Tapas Bar, a restaurant in Syracuse, makes plans to reopen its doors in August. The restaurant is hoping the small bites bring back the big smiles.

The new owners Bryan Raphael and his wife became friends with the previous owner of Laci’s, Laura Serway. After two years of it being closed, Raphael and his wife decided to buy the restaurant with the intentions of keeping it fairly the same as before.

“My favorite is the mac & cheese egg rolls,” Raphael said. “I love that.”

The pandemic was a major cause for the restaurant closing in 2020.

“We didn’t realize how much it was really missed in the community until we announced it was reopening,” Raphael said.

Syracuse resident Marlynda Walker hosted two events at Laci’s Tapas Bar in 2019. One was a Christmas event that took place less than a year before the restaurant closed.

Walker said she was particularly fond of the upstairs where she reserved the space for her colleagues, family, and friends.

Raphael says the restaurant will be able to hold about 140 people in total and will accept dinner reservations when it’s officially open.
