LGBTQ+ Inclusive Greeting Cards Just in Time for Pride Month LGBTQ+ Inclusive Greeting Cards Just in Time for Pride Month

SYRACUSE, N.Y. (NCC News)Going down the greeting card aisle can already seem overwhelming, but imagine going down the aisle, sorting through cards for hours, just to not find a card that is representative of the LGBTQ+ community.

Alex Davidson, who is gay and identifies with the pronouns of she/her, has been thinking about how to solve this for some years now.

Just in time for Pride Month, Davidson launched her business, To You, With Love that specializes in inclusive greeting cards focused on the queer and trans community.

“When you go to the store, and look for greeting cards, there aren’t many inclusive options. A lot of cards are really straight and really gendered. There is not many options for queer people, so I wanted to do something with that,” Davidson said.

Davidson released four designs for the first launch on Etsy.

“The first four designs are kind of general. There is one that could be used for a birthday or any sort of friendship or situation. The rest are a little more romantic or more for couples, but I do plan to expand. A lot of people have been requesting ‘coming out’ cards so that is next on my to do list,” Davidson said.

In the process of launching Davidson looked for ways to get the word of her business out there, so she turned to TikTok

Her first of three business series took off, and gained over 50,000 views.

“I had a little series going of about 4-5 TikToks about the business and the first one was about here is what I’m doing and why I’m doing it, lets go to target and look for queer cards and not find any,” Davidson said.

Davidson said that TikTok has allowed for a lot of conversation for upcoming ideas and how to continue in the most respectable way, being that she only has viewpoint as a gay women.

TikTok has also allowed for more growth than Davidson ever anticipated.

“My first launch on June 1st I had one design that completely sold out the first day and then a couple days later another design sold out. My last two designs there were a couple left. “
