SYRACUSE, N.Y. (NCC News) — Juneteenth weekend has arrived in Syracuse and its festival is back after a hiatus during the pandemic.
The Everson Art Museum is participating in the festivities with its Juneteenth Free Community Day event happening on Saturday.
Juneteenth weekend is another opportunity for Central New Yorkers to support Black businesses. Collin’s Barber and Beauty Shop is a pillar of the black community in Syracuse and it’s been providing haircuts and life advice since the 1960s.
There’s a new pro soccer team in Syracuse. The Syracuse Pulse is a club in the national independent soccer association – the third tier of professional soccer. The inaugural season went underway in March and runs through October.
