Support Local Artists At Month Long Art Show Art Mart is Underway Giving People the Chance to Support Local Artists

Art Mart, a local art show during the holiday season, has opened.

JACOB ERLBAUM: Art Mart, an annual holiday season art show is underway in Downtown Syracuse. Eva Hunter, a local artist and manager of the event takes pride in the event’s support for the local economy and local artists who display and sell their work there.

EVA HUNTER: It’s great to support the local economy and I think one of the best ways to do that is by supporting local art you know and it’s so unique and you know why buy something that everyone else is gonna get out of a big box store.

ERLBAUM: The art show has gifts ranging from all sections of the art world, giving buyers plenty of options.

HUNTER: It’s just such a combination, a unique combination of works. You know I look and I see you got pottery and ceramics and jewelry and macramé and art and maple syrup.

SYRACUSE,  N.Y. (NCC News)  — Art Mart, an annual holiday art show is underway in Downtown Syracuse. The event which lasts for over a month gives local artists an opportunity to display and sell their work which make great holiday gifts.

Eva Hunter, one of the event managers and an artist herself started working with Art Mart prior to the Covid-19 pandemic and has helped with it ever since. Hunter admires the opportunity the event gives to people to support local artists as well as the local economy.

“It’s great to support the local economy and I think one of the best ways to do that is by supporting local art you know and it’s so unique and you know why buy something that everyone else is gonna get out of a big box store,” Hunter said.

There’s a plethora of local art on display ranging from pottery to paintings to even Maple Syrup, among many other pieces. The show gives shoppers plenty of gift options for the holidays. The showroom is located in downtown Syracuse at 476 S. Salina St. and is open through December 23.
