The United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is notifying the public of reports of seizures, particularly among youth, following the use of e-cigarettes.
An FDA review of voluntary reports for e-cigarettes identified 35 cases of seizures following the use of e-cigarettes between 2010 and 2019, the administration said in a report. They also pointed out that many cases may go unreported and are calling for a scientific investigation into whether there is a connection between e-cigarette use and seizures.
The report did not mention any specific reasons or specific brands that may cause the seizures. They are simply warning the public of the possible public health concern.
