Syracuse, N.Y. (NCC News) — Bike-sharing  returned to the city of Syracuse on Saturday and this time it came with electric scooters.

The alternate transportation company, Veo, placed 50 bikes and 250 scooters at 30 locations across the city.

Keith Hansen, Veo’s operations manager, says riding one  is an unforgettable experience.

“It’s terrifying and exhilarating at the same, so the more you ride the more fun it is,” said Hansen.

As the bus shortage continues, the bikes and scooters can be a replacement. Hansen says the program can bring users the last mile public transportation cannot.

“Public transportation is not always the greatest and doesn’t get everybody everywhere they want to be and this does bridge that gap a little bit,” said Hansen.

In order to ride, users must download the Veo app and scan the barcode on the bike or scooter. It’s a dollar to unlock and 20 cents per minute for bikes and 31 cents a minute for scooters.

The scooters and bikes are available 24 hours a day. Download the app to find one near you.
