Laddie Springer: hello and welcome to the NCC News podcast. We’re your host. I’m Laddie Springer
Jordan Pierre: And I’m Jordan Pierre. And today is June 12th. Here are some of the stories we’re following today at NCC News. Our reporter, Jailah Pettis talks more about the increase in the foreclosure filings in Syracuse.
Jailah Pettis: Real estate agent Jeremy Allen says The reason foreclosures have increased are due to banks requiring full repayment of loans after covid 19.
Jeremy Allen:
But not many people can just pull out 10, $20,000 to catch up on their mortgage. So they’re pushing, that’s pushing it into a foreclosure. The economy itself is weaker than it would be elsewhere cuz the surest sign of a strong economy is demand for jobs and rising wages.
Jordan Pierre: Speaking of Jailah Pettis, she’ll be on our weather reporter for the day.
Jailah, how was looking outside today?
Jaliah: the air quality and haze has obviously cleared up and much needed. Rain is on the way. I know that I spoke with someone earlier about the conditions of the grass and manlius and a drought is here, so it’s a precipitation chance of 90% all the way until 3:00 AM tomorrow morning.
Laddie Springer: Thanks so much, Jailah. Looking forward to that full forecast. Today coming up in local news, Karen Eames has been sentenced.
