SYRACUSE, N.Y. (NCC NEWS) – Amir “Cashman” Anderson, a name synonymous with amateur boxing glory, is about to enter the professional ring, making his debut under Misfits boxing promotion.
Anderson’s journey from a young amateur to a professional has been a testament to his growth and determination. He’s been a familiar face at Ray Rinaldi’s West Area Athletic and Education Center in Syracuse since childhood.
Anderson, now 20, has not only honed his skills as a fighter but also taken on the role of a coach, inspiring the next generation of boxers. With a relentless drive and dedication, he’s now prepared to transition from amateur to professional boxing.
“It’s been a long time coming since I was a kid. I’ve been doing this for 13 years plus, and I always dreamed of being a professional fighter,” said Anderson.
Anderson is a 10-time national champion and an international champion. He rose to the highest levels in the amateur ranks until he had nothing more to prove.
Anderson decided to become a professional after a significant moment in his amateur career. Despite winning international gold, USA Boxing passed him over for the Paris Olympics. Instead of seeing this as a setback, Anderson viewed it as an opportunity.
“That was a blessing in disguise, and I’m ready for the future. I’m ready to capture the world titles at 160, 168, 175, and possibly 203. USA Boxing gave me the platform and stage to perform at the highest level in amateur boxing, but now it’s time to perform in the professional ranks,” Anderson said.
On August 10, Miami will witness the beginning of a new era in boxing as Anderson steps into the ring for his professional debut. While details about his opponent remain under wraps, Anderson’s focus is unwavering. He has his sights set on becoming an undisputed world champion.
As the boxing world eagerly anticipates his debut, Amir “Cashman” Anderson is poised to make a significant impact, bringing his amateur success into the professional arena. This young, determined fighter’s journey has just begun, and the future looks incredibly bright.
